Stria Blind Design

I am a founder and lead at Stria Labs, Inc., a student company dedicated to making life safer and easier for the blind population. Our patented flagship product, the Stria band, helps users avoid veering by detecting unintentional turning, and directing users back onto their path through haptic feedback. Our company and product has been funded by VC firms and grants, as well as with input from designers at eBay, Google, GM, and IDEO.

We are now in the final phases of beta testing, and we are working with over 200 blind users and a dozen blind centers across the country to receive feedback and make our product the best it can be.

Stria has come along way, reworked many times as we continued to receive feedback from users. We started with off the shelf boards, and now use a custom manufactured sytem in the Stria Band.
