Our 4-person team worked with Conservation Ambassadors, an exotic animal rescue zoo, to design and install special shelters for the animals there. Maya and Crazy, a spider and capuchin monkey, were both rescued as illegal pets that have become habituated to humans. Maya was found malnourished, crying in an LA dumpster.

Our priority was the livlihood of these animals that cannot be released into the wild. We had the opportunity to present and receive feedback from Jane Goodall.

The design was created as a 3D model in Fusion360. The also utilized a flat-pack design to make manufacturing and shipping more convenient. Designs were shared globally for zoos to access.

We balanced the needs of two different users, zookeepers who needed easy access for cleaning and safety, and monkeys who need to stay entertained and feel like they have privacy.
